Carol assists a wide variety of clients to mitigate destructive workplace conflict. She does this through facilitation, team building, training and coaching activities that improve interpersonal and organizational communication.
Carol has created and presents a proprietary program for developing interpersonal skills (Clear Communication, Face-to-Face®). Also, she is certified to facilitate the Strength Deployment Inventory® (a relationship building and communications skills tool), and presents strategic communication planning processes.
Her first career was in marketing communication and strategic communications counsel, based on a Public Relations degree from Boston University. She established CJS Communications Inc. in 1985 in Toronto in order to practice as an independent communications consultant.
In 1982, Carol earned accreditation (APR) from the Canadian Public Relations Society; she was admitted to the CPRS College of Fellows in 2004.
Today she holds both negotiation and mediation certificates from the Justice Institute of British Columbia and is a professional mediator.
She is a Director of the BC Centre for Quality; Communications Committee Chair for the Delta Chamber of Commerce, and member of the Education Committee of the Surrey Board of Trade. She participates in the UBC Sauder School of Business executive mentor program, the International Society for Productivity Improvement, and BC Organization Development Network.
